3 Sneaky Ways to Boost & Fix Your Metabolism

One of the questions I always get asked is how you can speed up your metabolism – or fix it if it’s “broken” from poorly planned diets and exercise plans.

What do I mean when I say broken metabolism?

I’m talking about hormonal dysfunction that comes from getting too few calories from too long, or eating a typical junk-food diet… Which can happen even if you eat “health foods”.

Now, there are a ton of solutions for getting the youthful, healthy metabolism you had as a teen back. That’s good news, because that way you can stay lean and feel great while eating more of the food you love.

Most people overcomplicate this – so today, I’ll give you my 3 sneaky tips that fix and boost your metabolism for good.

Tip 1 – Avoid Starvation Mode

Starvation mode, called “adaptive thermogenesis” by researchers, is when your body does everything it can to hold onto fat.

How does this happen?

Well, we have a natural starvation protection mechanism. When we go without eating for a while, our bodies work hard to use less energy and store fat. This is what kept our ancient ancestors alive when their next meal was never guaranteed.

Now, how do most modern people try to lose weight? By exercising more and eating less. The initial results come quickly and they lose a few pounds. So far so good…

But after a few weeks, the body goes into “adaptive thermogenesis”, or starvation mode, and progress stops. The body stores fat, uses less energy, and keeps you overweight and tired.

To make sure this doesn’t happen, you need to eat on time, lose weight at a reasonable pace, and have healthy snacks handy when you can’t sit down for a meal.

Tip 2 – Get Enough Protein

In a study, those who ate low-protein diets stored 95% of excess calories as fat. Those who ate normal and high-protein diets – with 15-25% of calories coming from protein – stored just 55% of excess calories as fat. That’s a massive 40% difference!

While researchers aren’t sure why it happens, the study definitively proves that protein changes the way the body stores calories. If your body is already in “starvation mode”, protein will tell it to store less energy as fat, and kick your metabolism up a notch – which is what you want.

To keep your metabolism humming along, and avoid excessive fat loss, make sure to get enough protein at all times.

Tip 3 – Eat Balanced Meals On Time

Let’s talk about how most people “get fit” again.

They start off by starving themselves and doing more exercise. This works for a bit, but the gains stop after a few short weeks. And what happens then?

In the worst cases, self-blame, guilt and mood swings caused by not getting enough calories. In the best cases, a lack of energy.

Either way, dieting by not eating isn’t sustainable – and to avoid starvation mode, you need to eat balanced meals on time. That’s tip #3.

Now, I know what you’re thinking… “How do I make sure I get a healthy meal on time”?

Well, one way is to get a snack bar at your office vending machine or corner store… But if you check their ingredients, mass-produced snacks are full of sugar, high-fructose corn syrup and sometimes even trans-fats (yuck!)

But what if I told you there’s a healthy meal you can take anywhere… And get ready in seconds… That comes in 11 rich, scintillating flavors, from Cookies ‘n Cream to Dulce de Leche to good old Vanilla…

And instead of being a waistline-ruining dessert, this meal has 21 essential vitamins and minerals… 9g of protein and fiber… And absolutely NO cholesterol and NO trans fats?
